Petrified wood is a form of fossil. It forms when a piece of wood gets buried in sediment which protects it from decaying, and when groundwater then flows through the sediment, the wood gets replaced by minerals (www.geology.com).
This one has beautiful details and the colours of taupe and rich dark brown. In the right upper corner there is also some orange.
The stone is wrapped in polymer clay and the cord is black vegan leather with rivets. The bail is blackened iron. The clay only covers the top, to show off the sides that I find very pretty with all the wood like structure preserved.
