A large labradorite crystal slab pendant in a copper setting. The crystal is clear blue and is reversible, meaning it looks the same on both sides. The stone has a matte finish and on one side there is a glossy streak, I believe this is from when it was cut and polished.
Labradorite is a stone that needs light to show its colours. That is why when you look at it at first, it may appear grey and dull, until you angle it in the light. Please be aware that the striking blue colour shows at a specific angle.
The name of this pendant comes from the sea nymphs in Norse mythology. Himinglæva was one of the sea goddess Ran's daughters, and the name means 'as clear as the sky' which matches the colour of the stone perfectly.
The piece has been treated with patina to give it an aged look. The electroforming process is time consuming and includes several steps. Each piece is unique.
